Thank you for coming to my website. My name is Benjamin Blakely, and I am currently looking for an opportunity in the athletic communications and or journalism field. Recently, I graduated with a master’s degree in Digital Journalism from St. Bonaventure University. Before attending St. Bonaventure, I graduated from SUNY Brockport in May 2021 with a bachelor’s in Multimedia Journalism.
Sports have been something I have gravitated towards, and I hope it will become my future career. I have experience in broadcast, print, and web journalism.
As a sports and news reporter and sports director at 89.1 The Point, I won five New York State Broadcasters Association Awards for my sports reporting. I also finished 2nd in the Radio/TV Sports Event: Play by Play Talent from the Broadcast Education Association.
I am unsure of a specific career path I want to pursue, but I know sports will be a part of it. I have covered multiple facets of athletics, from high school and college teams to professional sports franchises such as the Rochester Red Wings, Rochester Americans, and Buffalo Sabres. And I believe I can take your athletics coverage to the next level.
